The Basix Modern Cloth Nappy by Cushie Tushies is an All-In-One design & does not require a cover. This nappy contains an outer layer of deliciously soft Minky, a layer of waterproof PUL & two large layers of absorbent bamboo inside the wet-zone, & an inner lining of matching microfleece against baby’s skin.
The Basix comes with one large booster, which is made from two layers of bamboo cotton & topped with microfleece & attached to the top front of the Basix with snaps. It also comes with one separate mini booster, again made with two layers of bamboo cotton & topped with microfleece.
In total, this Basix has six layers of bamboo cotton – eight if you double the large booster over – making it extremely absorbent! Plus, the waterproof PUL layer makes it really leak-proof, for one very reliable nappy.
The Basix's One-Size-Fits-All design has been tested on boys & girls from newborn to toddler with great success.
To fit on a newborn (up to approx. 5kg): First, remove the snapped-in booster completely (you will need this when baby is bigger). Place the smaller booster towards the back of the nappy. Fold the nappy up over baby's tummy as normal & then fold the top front of the nappy out & down. Fasten as normal. The more you fold down, the smaller the nappy will become & the tighter the fit around the legs.
To fit on a larger baby (from approx. 5kg-17kg): Snap the large booster in place, then place baby on top, fold the nappy over baby's tummy & fasten using snaps. Use second booster provided for long naps or heavy wetters.
To use at night: Once baby starts sleeping through the night, boost the absorbency using a night booster. Lay the folded night booster underneath the snapped-in booster in the nappy.

Fitting Your Cushie Tushies Nappy
Cushie Tushies all-in-one (AIO) nappies are one-size-fits-all, or OSFA. This means that the nappy you purchase when your little one is born will see them right through to toilet training. There is no need to buy different sizes as your child grows - rather, as your baby grows, you simply adjust how far around the front of your baby's tummy you wrap the wings of the nappy & secure firmly with the snaps.
To fit the Cushie Tushies nappies on a newborn to approximately 5kg, you will need to shorten the rise at the front by folding the top down (see Photo below with the other picuts showing the nappy on a 5 day old baby). This will also reduce the size of the leg holes, preventing leakage, & the nappy will still fasten at the front as normal.
Cushie Tushies has tested their OSFA nappies on boys & girls, from newborn to toddler, with great success.
Cushie Tushies are available in two different ranges - the Couture & the Basix. They are both All-In-Ones but you will notice that the Couture is more expensive than the Basix. Here is a brief description of both Couture & Basix nappies, their features & benefits, & the main differences between them.
Couture or Basix - what is the differnce?
Both the Couture & Basix ranges are a One-Size-Fits-All design, meaning the nappy can be used from birth until toilet training.
Both are also All-In-One designs - the waterproof outer and absorbent inner are all in one unit, so no covers or pilchers are required.
There are a few main differences between the Couture & the Basix:
The Couture is more absorbent compared to the Basix, making it ideal for heavy wetters, long naps or
overnight use.
The Couture has fashion prints, whereas the Basix only comes in a selection of plain colours.
