Easy to use
Gussetted leg openings ensure a snug fit. The elastic edges are covered with a superior
nylon binding which helps prevent moisture from wicking onto babies clothes.
Trim cut & trim fit. Only adjustable around the waist, but leg gussets to help fit around the legs.
This cover is good for babies with skinny legs & is a fantastic cover for use with prefolds or folded nappies on new babies - just put the cover over the nappy & do up the Aplix snuggly - no need for pins or snappi!
The Rikki™ Cover is designed to be used with any of the Mother-ease™ One-size™ nappies or Mother-ease™ Sandy's™ nappies to create a highly breathable, leakproof nappy system.
Sizing
Xsmall - 2.5 to 5.5kgs
Small - 2.5 to 5.5kgs
Medium - 4.5 to 9kgs
Large - 9 to 16kgs
Xlarge - 16 to 21kgs
Note the XSmall & Small size covers fit the same weight range (2.5-5.5kg), however the XSmall is a smaller cover. XSmall covers are designed for use with premmie/newborn size nappies such as the Mother-ease™ XS Sandy's™ nappy or newborn prefolds. The Small size cover is designed for use with larger nappies such as the Mother-ease™ One-size™ nappy or folded terry squares.
Note the Xsmall & XLarge covers are an order in item only which will add 4-5 days to your delivery time.
Remember it is very important that your cover fits properly to avoid leaks etc. The Small or XSmall size is great for a newborn baby. Medium is too large for a new baby.
If you are unsure of the sizing just try it on over a clean/dry nappy. If you feel it is not the correct size take if off immediately & let me know as I am happy to exchange it for another size as long as the cover is unused & unwashed.

Air-flow™ or Rikki™?
This is a very personal choice. The main difference is that the Air-flow™ closes with snaps & the Rikki™ with Aplix (like Velcro™). They are also a different cut - the air-flow is a very generous (some would say "baggy") cut whereas the Rikki™ is much trimmer.
Here are some things to consider when choosing:
Air-flow™ Cover: Generous cut - fits any nappy & just about any baby & allows air to circulate inside the cover ("Air-flow") to reduce temperature & wetness * Separately adjustable at waist & legs - good for fat tummies or fat thighs! * Easy to wash & care for * Snaps never wear out * Babies cannot open snaps * Easy to put on a wriggly baby - just snap it on!
Rikki™ Cover: Trimmer cut & trimmer fit * Only adjustable around the waist, but leg gussets to help fit around the leg * This cover is good for babies with skinny legs where the air-flow snaps are too big * Quick & easy to put on * Extra care required when washing to avoid the Aplix snagging & collecting fluff * Babies can often open Aplix from around 4-6 months, so outer clothing is essential with this cover* Fantastic cover for use with prefolds or folded nappies on new babies - just put the cover over the nappy & do up the Aplix snuggly - no need for pins or snappi!
Wash & Care:
Can be machine washed to 60˚C (wash with your nappies). Can be tumble dried on low. DO NOT BLEACH - including Napisan - as this will significantly reduce the life of the cover.
Expected life:
With love & care your Air-flow cover can be expected to last 4-6 months of full-time (ie. washing every 2nd day) use. Some people find they last much longer, however, if you have unexplained leaks after 4 months of use then your cover has worn out. Please be aware that the cover may "yellow" on the inside after a few months of use. This is normal & does not affect the functioning of the cover. Please do not be tempted to try to bleach the yellow out.
Storage:
To store the cover for future use wash, rinse twice and dry thoroughly. Store in a cool dry place. Some yellowing may occur if the cover is stored for some time.
