Why Use Cloth

Often people ask themselves, Why Use Cloth? I can list some fantastic reasons for using Cloth.

Saves Money, Environment Friendly, Comfortable, Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Beneficial for Babies Health & They Look Great!

Saves Money

When most people see the price of cloth nappies their initial thought is they seem expensive, however you need to remember to look at it over the long term. Cloth nappies are very economical & are definitely alot cheaper than disposables. They should be viewed as an investment as they are designed to be re-used again & again (like your clothes). Remember a good quality cloth nappy system might cost a little bit up front, but it will go the distance & last.

Being able to save money is always a great feeling, especially with the cost of living today. Did you know that disposables can cost anywhere from $3000 to $4000+ for each baby in nappies (the length of time in nappies is approx 2 to 3 years). Disposable can cost anywhere from 36cents to 60cents for each nappy. The estimated cost is around $2 to $3 per day or $23 to $25 per week. Note newborns use between 10 - 12 nappies per day which reduces to about 6 to 8 when they get older. This cost will vary with the brand of disposable, the size of the packet you buy & the number of nappies your baby goes through. So for each child you have in disposables, the estimated cost will increase by approximately $3000 to $4000+. For example if you had 3 children & you used disposables on them all you would have spent approximately $12000. That's alot of money for something you can only use once & then have to throw away.

A fulltime cloth nappy system for one child is approximately $500 to $700, plus you can add on an estimate of $400 to $500 for additional costs (electricity, detergent, washing, liners etc), bringing the total to approximately $1200 for the length of time your baby is in nappies. Remember that you can reuse your cloth nappies on your next child/children, which increases the amount saved enormously. If you have your children close together, (both in nappies) you can increase your nappy supply by purchasing a part time package or additional nappies (that way you won't need to wash everyday). This would be approximately $120 to $300. Cloth Nappies are definitely alot cheaper than disposables & will save you thousands. Alternatively some people choose to use cloth nappies on a part-time basis with disposables & by doing this you can still save money. I have a big range of cloth nappies & packages to choose from with wonderful savings & you can layby them too.
